After the first two weeks being rained out, we finally kicked off the season opener at Knoxville Raceway this past Saturday, May 4th.
Jack said the car felt great after hot laps... Kicking off the night with a 5th quick overall in hot laps.
In qualifying Jack was the final 360 to time trial (out of 36) Jack qualified 22nd. Jack said the car felt really good in qualifying but, the track overall times had just dropped off that second half of qualifying. With some minor adjustments by Crew Chiefs Glenn Freeland and Johnny Anderson and hard work by the JAM Race Team, they prepared for the heat race.
Jack caught the invert and started on the pole in the second heat race. He lead the race from green to checkered and picked up his first heat race victory at 16 years old with a 5 second lead over second place.
Jack was scheduled to start 15th in the A main. During the warm up and line up laps for the A main, blew the seal out of the oil filter and put an end to the evening.
Although the night was cut short... the JAM TEAM is very excited to kick off the season with a Heat Race Win at the Sprint Car Capital of the World and looking forward to the 2024 Season!!
