Sydney, Australia - May 9th, 2024 - Sydney International Speedway regrets to announce the cancellation of the highly anticipated event scheduled for Saturday, May 11th, 2024, due to persistent rain and an unfavourable forecast.
Despite our best efforts to proceed with the event, the ongoing inclement weather and forecasted conditions have made it impossible to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all participants, including drivers, teams, staff, and spectators.
"Unfortunately, the weather conditions have not improved as anticipated, and we must prioritize the safety of everyone involved," said Garry Willmington, Manager at Sydney International Speedway. "We understand the disappointment this cancellation may cause, but the safety and well-being of our community remain our utmost priority."
Sydney International Speedway extends its sincere apologies to all affected by this cancellation and appreciates the understanding and support of the racing community.
Refunds will be automatically processed for all tickets purchased through eventbrite for the May 11th event.
We thank you for your continued support and understanding during this time and look forward to welcoming you back to Sydney International Speedway for our next event on May 25th, 2024.
