“SPRINT CAR 101: THE KNOXVILLE ANNOUNCERS” SET FOR THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 19, AT THE NATIONAL SPRINT CAR MUSEUM

KNOXVILLE, IOWA (September 9, 2013) - “The Knoxville Announcers” is set as the next program in the National Sprint Car Museum’s Sprint Car 101 Third Thursday Series and it will take place on Thursday, September 19. The free and open-to-the-public presentation will take occur on the second floor of the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame & Museum at 7 p.m. It will feature past and present Knoxville Raceway announcers Jack Herwehe, Tim Trier, Tony Bokhoven, Mike Roberts and Jason Price.

According to museum curator Tom Schmeh today, “We are very excited to be hosting these five announcers from Knoxville’s past and present. Imagine the stories that they can tell from the era of the ‘Big Three’ in our sport, that of Steve Kinser, Sammy Swindell and Doug Wolfgang. Combine those stories with ones about Donny Schatz, Danny Lasoski, Randy Smith, Terry McCarl and many others, and we are guaranteed an educational and entertaining evening!”
