Sprint Cars Return To Southern Oklahoma Speedway

Tulsa Oklahoma (April 22, 2014) – Oil Capital Racing Series sprint cars will return to Ardmore Oklahoma’s Southern Oklahoma Speedway this Saturday night in what will be a complete make-up of the program that was rained out on April 5th. On that date, OCRS had 28 power-packed sprinters that had three of four heat races in the books however, when the final sprint car heat race was on the track, the skies opened up and track officials had no choice but to bring the curtain down before the programs headliner could be completed.
Since pulling out of SOS two and a half weeks ago, A few OCRS drivers have been on rails with quality proven results. Moore Oklahoma’s Whit Gastineau took honors in the first two events thus he will be looking to score a tri-fecta to start the new season with an SOS win as well as vying for his 20th career OCRS feature score.
Danny Smith has found himself glaring at Gastineau’s tail tank at the conclusion of those first two events and looks to put a halt to Gastineau’s string of success on Saturday night. The only other driver with two straight top five’s on his report card to start the year is Dewey Oklahoma’s Andrew Deal. ‘AD’ sits third in the chase for the ‘Harold Leep Championship Trophy’. Sheldon Barksdale and Brian McClelland round out the top five in points in these extremely early proceedings.
Look for these OCRS stars along with a solid pack of additional quality proven OCRS drivers at the Southern Oklahoma Speedway this Saturday night. Those that have either a pit pass or grandstand ticket from the April 5th event may redeem them for entry this week. The track schedule for this event is as follows:

Directions from Interstate 35:
Take exit 29 and proceed east approximately ½ mile to Hwy 77
Turn south onto Hwy 77. Racetrack is approx. 2 miles on right.
