7/17/14 Race Results from I-80 Speedway

On opening night of the Silver Dollar Nationals, the largest late model race in Nebraska, the Carpetland Nebraska 360 sprints were back in action. With a weeknight race, there were 18 sprint cars in the pits and once again the racing was fast and action packed.

Winners of the 3 heat races were Chase Johnson, Seth Brahmer and Billy Alley. All 18 cars transferred to the A Feature with Joey Danley, who was making just his 2nd start in a 360n and Billy Alley led the field to the green flag. Jack Dover, starting from outside of the 2nd row did a bonsai move to split Danley and Alley and raced to the front of the field and continued to hold on the lead for all 25 laps with challenges from Don Droud, Jr, driving the family number 2 sprinter to a 2nd place finish. Dover and Droud were both clocked running the 4/10th mile track in the mid 14 seconds range, setting a blistering pace. Following Dover and Droud to the finish line were Billy Alley, Tyler Drueke, Trevor Grossenbacher, Chase Johnson, Jason Danley, Joey Danley, Randy Hibbs and Cody Ledger rounding out the top 10.

Up next for the 360 sprinters is a return visit to Denison, Iowa and their big half mile on Thursday, July 24th and then on Saturday, July 26th, the sprints return to action at the Butler County Speedway highbanks, both races are sure to not disappoint.
