Inside Line Promotions – KNOXVILLE, Iowa (July 29, 2014) – This is the week Jamie Ball has been preparing for all season.

The 24th annual Arnold Motor Supply 360 Knoxville Nationals will kick off this Thursday at Knoxville Raceway with preliminary competition prior to Saturday’s $10,000-to-win finale.

“We’re really getting geared up for the 360 Nationals,” he said. “Our consistency is starting to be there more often from the beginning of the night to the end.”

That was showcased last Saturday when Ball opened the night by tying his season best with a fourth-place qualifying effort.

“I think that’s our best qualifying effort for the year,” he said. “Qualifying is everything when it comes to 360 Nationals. It’s great to be consistent going into the Nationals.”

Ball then advanced from sixth to fifth place to capture the final lock-in position into the feature. That lined him up on the inside of the third row for the main event.

“I fell back a little bit on the start and worked my way past Sheldon Haudenschild on a restart and by Matt Covington a few laps later,” he said. “The car was good. I was able to move around the top, bottom, middle. There was nothing too high or low, but the story of the night was consistency.”

Ball finished with a fifth-place result, which marked his fifth top five of the season. That was an added confidence boost heading into his 360 Knoxville Nationals preliminary night this Thursday.

“A night like we just had would put us solidly in the A Main on Saturday,” he said. “If I can go out and qualify in the top 10, make it through my heat race and get another top five in the feature that should put us solidly in the main. I haven’t made the main event in the 360 Nationals yet. That’s my personal goal. Anything else would be icing on the cake.”

Devin Kline will compete in the 305 class on Saturday as well.

Additionally, Ball will race an outlaw kart for Jody Ashley next Monday and Tuesday at English Creek Speedway during the 9th annual Outlaw DIRT KART Nationals.
