Inside Line Promotions – WHEATLAND, Mo. (Sept. 30, 2014) – Jack Dover extended his top-10 streak to 10 consecutive races with a solid outing last weekend during the Jesse Hockett/Daniel McMillin Memorial.

Dover finished seventh and ninth, respectively, at Lucas Oil Speedway with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour.

“I’m not upset about it, but I’m not happy because I know that we have the equipment to do well,” he said. “We’re still trying to figure out the new car and with the National guys there I’m content with top 10s.”

Dover advanced from fourth to second place during his heat race both nights, which locked him into each main event.

“I just got good starts and everything happened on the first lap,” he said. “All the heats were pretty stacked.”

The heat race performance advanced Dover into the feature redraw on Friday, when he pulled the highest number – eight – during the random draw. That lined him up on the outside of the fourth row for the main event.

“Pretty much the track was right around the top side,” he said. “You couldn’t do anything on the bottom. It was follow the guy in front of you and don’t miss your line. I got one person and that’s where we stayed. It was actually a pretty boring race.”

Dover, who finished seventh on Friday, started Saturday’s main event on the inside of the sixth row.

“They worked the track before the feature,” he said. “In the very beginning it was really good. It was pretty even on the bottom and top. The track was just too good where you didn’t see much passing.”

Dover’s ninth-place finish marked his 33rd top 10 of the season.

He will take the next couple of weekends off before the Winter Nationals Oct. 17-18 at Devil’s Bowl Speedway in Mesquite, Texas, with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour.
