Yakima Dirt Track to host the Summer Thunder Sprint Series Season Opener!

Funtime Promotions is pleased to announce the 2015 season opener for the Summer Thunder Sprint Series will be at the Central Washington State Fairgrounds Dirt track Saturday April 4th.

The ‘Yakima Valley Sprintcar Challenge’ event will host many of the region’s top sprint car racers. “We are excited to bring the Summer Thunder Sprintcar Series to The State Fair Speedway” said Greg Lybeck assistant general manager at State Fair Park, “The sprint cars are very popular with our fans and this event will expand our motorsports program”.

Added purse money will pay $3,000 to win, $1,500 for 2nd, $1,000 for 3rd at the inaugural event. A special start time will be at 5:00pm and the event will be completed by 8:00pm. “It is important that we get the event done a little earlier than normal” commented Funtime Promotions owner Steve Beitler, “ It’s cooler in the evening and with many fans coming from the west side of the mountains we want them to be able to travel home that night and be ready for Easter”.

Also racing that night will be the Shipwreck Beads Modified Series. “There are several new cars being built in the northwest and combined with the modifieds from Grays Harbor, Skagit and the Yakima area this will be a great start to the 2015 season”, said Beitler.

More event details will be released in the next couple days….. stay tuned for an announcement on our new series sponsor….
