Thompson's Auto Group partners with Placerville Speedway as a 50th Anniversary presenting sponsor

PLACERVILLE, CA (2-27-15) – For decades, veteran auto dealer Ron Thompson has been involved with Placerville Speedway and many different race teams, locally and afar. Entering its much anticipated 50th Anniversary season, Placerville Speedway is proud to announce that the Thompson's Auto Group has signed on even bigger than ever before as a presenting sponsor of the 2015 racing season ahead.

The Red Hawk Casino 50th Anniversary season presented by Thompson's Auto Group, Hoosier Racing Tires and Coors Light is set to open in grand fashion with the King of the West Sprint Car Series on Saturday, April 4 followed by the return of the National World of Outlaws Sprint Car Tour on Wednesday, April 8 when the best drivers from around the world return to El Dorado County for the first time since 1992.

These high octane season leading events will trail a special test and tune on Sunday March 29th and will be followed by the 2015 Red Hawk Casino Championship series that begins on Saturday night, April 11 when the winged 360 Sprint Cars, Limited Late models and Pure Stocks all begin their quest towards their coveted championship titles. This special season has become rich in anticipation, winnings and bonus funds from area businesses that have taken advantage of the premier marketing opportunities that Placerville Speedway offers as the area's sole professional spectator sporting venue.

As part of their 2015 partnership, the Thompson's Auto Group will assist in making winnings richer throughout the season in several fashions including bonus winnings for many special events, such as the annual Mark Forni Classic, the Donnie Tilford Big Trophy Night Tribute and the longtime Tribute to Al Hinds, an event in which Thompson's has been part of for several years.

"When it comes to community support in El Dorado County there are not many places where you don't see the Thompson's brand and we are proud to have them on board at Placerville Speedway to make this a very special 50th anniversary year," said Bill Sullivan of Placerville Speedway. "Ron and Jeff Thompson have been a huge part of this speedway for decades, and this year they have stepped in even bigger."

Known for their famed Thompson's Toyota and Buick-GMC Dealerships, the Thompson's Auto Group has recently expanded in El Dorado County with the grand opening of their third area dealership, adding the Dodge, Chrysler and Jeep brands to their offerings as well as their certified used car inventory. Their involvement with Placerville Speedway makes sense, because when people think cars in El Dorado County they think Thompson's and Placerville Speedway.

The Red Hawk Casino Championship season to come at Placerville Speedway is becoming the talk of the Northern California dirt track racing community. The added sponsorships for this season offer bonus winnings like never before, including added monies to the season end division champions.

This season, Domco Plumbing of Folsom has signed on to sponsor Placerville Speedway's Sprint Car and Limited Late Model Division Championships. In each of these exciting classes, the season champion will earn a minimum of a $2000 bonus courtesy of Domco Plumbing. The grassroots Pure Stock Division is just as rich, with Jay's Mobile Welding and Fabrication sponsorship of the division championship that will pay a $2000 bonus to the top driver in the point standings.

Another form of added winnings will come this year through four special nights of racing known as the "Placerville Posse" Series, a championship within a championship. This special four race series includes the following events; April 11, April 25, August 1 and August 22 and pays additional winnings on each of the nights with the Sprint winner earning $2000, Limited Late Model winner $750 and the Pure Stock winner $500. Additionally, any driver in the sprint car division who can claim victory in all four of these races will earn an additional $2000 bonus thanks to Red Hawk Casino and collaborative sponsors. If no driver wins all four, these bonus funds will be split among those who do win on these designated nights.

The fast qualifier each week will also earn a $100 bonus courtesy ADCO Drivelines and Custom Exhaust in Shingle Springs. This will mark ADCO's third consecutive season as the weekly fast time sponsor. In addition to the track, ADCO Driveline sponsors several different drivers among multiple divisions.

"The community has truly come in strong for this 50th Anniversary season, added Sullivan. "There's a lot of opportunity to win some good money this year at Placerville and we're hearing great things from our drivers and many new teams that are expected to join us this season. We can't thank everyone enough for their investment into this great track and sport so far and there's more to come."

Placerville season will host action as early as March 29 with a special Sunday evening practice night. April 4 the King of the West Sprint Cars will be joined by the Midgets of the Bay Cities Racing Association. April 8 marks the return of the World of Outlaws Sprint Cars Series that will be followed by the championship opener on April 11.

Tickets for this event will be available at the gate on race day. Adult tickets will be $22 for Adults, Seniors and Juniors are $15 and Children are $6.
