Looking Forward To Devil's Bowl

The 2015 race season kicked off in Tampa, Florida at East Bay Raceway Park. Kyle, along with 66 other drivers, showed up to compete at the 17th Annual Ronald Laney Memorial and the season opener for the ASCS National Tour.

With some of the toughest competition in sprint car racing, Kyle proved that he is ready to take on the 2015 race schedule and make his run for ASCS National Tour Rookie of the Year. In his first trip to East Bay Raceway Park, Kyle learned a lot and turned some good laps.

Thursday night started off a little rocky in the heat race as Kyle got caught up on the start and lost a few critical positions, he worked his way forward to finish 6th. Starting 12th in the B Feature he was able to move up through the field and showed some speed but ended up a few positions short of making the A Feature, with a 7th place finish.

Friday night Kyle advanced to 4th in the heat after starting 6th, giving him a 4th place starting position for the B Feature where he finished 2nd grabbing the last transfer spot into the A Feature. Kyle managed to work his way up to 13th from deep in the field.

Saturday’s format would line him up based off of accumulated points from the weekend. In the qualifier, the winner would go to the A Feature with the rest going to B’s and C’s. Finishing 3rd in the qualifier Kyle would line up 8th in the B Feature, finishing 9th.

With the opening weekend of the 2015 season behind them, it was time for the team to move on to Bubba Raceway Park in Ocala, Florida. It was the team’s first visit to the uniquely D-shaped 3/8 mile.

Right off the bat the team showed speed turning some really good laps practice night, which led to a great heat race on Friday, with Kyle advancing from outside row two to the third position. With 42 cars on hand that gave Kyle and the team enough passing points to start 12th in A Feature.

The A Feature saw rubbered down track conditions and relatively single file racing. Kyle got hung out on the top side of the track on the start and battled a tight race car and brought home a 17th place finish.

Next up, is the famed Devils Bowl Speedway in Mesquite Texas. Kyle won this race in 2013 and is excited to get back to a track where he has had success and is looking forward to building confidence for the rest of the season.
