Inside Line Promotions – PARK CITY, Kan. (April 1, 2015) – Jack Dover has an outstanding track record at I-80 Speedway, where he is set to compete during a doubleheader this weekend.
Dover, who will tackle the high-speed track this Friday and Saturday with the Carpetland Nebraska 360 Sprints, has scored multiple victories at I-80 Speedway during each of the past two years.
“I always enjoy racing at I-80,” he said. “For one, it’s my home track. And two, we have the same setup every time we go there. We know what the track is going to do almost every night. ”
Dover has earned seven feature victories, 16 top fives and 22 top 10s in 25 appearances at I-80 Speedway since the start of the 2011 season. And during the past two seasons he has recorded six triumphs and 10 top 10s in 14 races.
“Just more laps and my driving style in the corner has been the biggest difference lately,” he said. “At I-80 it’s how you enter the corners that makes all your speed up. Once I figured that out we started doing really well.”
Dover is coming off a sour ending to his season opener last Saturday at 81 Speedway during the NCRA’s 5th annual Air Capital Shootout.
He opened the event, in which he drove for Chris Bowers, by winning a heat race after starting on the outside of the front row. That lined Dover up fourth for the main event.
“We were around the top five most of the time, but the birdcage broke and the car developed a bad vibration so I called it a night early,” he said.
Dover was in contention for a top-five result throughout most of the feature before he pulled into the infield with approximately six laps remaining. He was credited with a 21st-place finish.
