A4MP Engine, Kyle Hirst interview & highlights from Rounds 4 and 5

The Alternative 410 Motor Program (A4MP) will be the cornerstone of discussion on this Thursday’s edition of “King of the West Tonight” at 7pm pst. The show can be viewed as always on the homepage of http://www.kwssprints.com and will be available for replay immediately after the first showing.

The A4MP is a motor package that derived from GM's LS engine program, primarily because of the high volume of production and after market engine components. The motor can be built in the ballpark of $20,000.

As documented previously the A4MP Engine was utilized by Dan Simpson Racing over the final three events of the KWS season. Former Golden State 410 Series Rookie of the Year Kyle Hirst drove the car at the final race of the year and showed the potential of the engine.

Hirst won his heat race in thrilling fashion and was running solidly in the main event, until a rear end failure on the ninth circuit sidelined him for the
remainder of the 30-lapper. On Thursday we will have a phone-in interview with the 23-year-old competitor, getting his thoughts and perspective on the A4MP Engine.

In addition to that we will also relive highlights from the fourth and fifth rounds of the Golden State King of the West 410 Sprint Car Series season. Round four took place at the Marysville Raceway Park bullring and ended with a popular winner in the form of Sacramento’s “Double Down” Willie Croft.

The fifth round of action marked the annual “Pombo/Sargent Classic” and featured Tim Kaeding and Jonathan Allard getting into a mix up early in the race, before Easton’s Tommy Tarlton took the checkered flag to earn his third career victory in the prestigious event.
