PETERSEN MEDIA- After charging his way from his 12th starting spot in one of the B mains on Saturday night at the Chili Bowl, Bud Kaeding scored a 19th place finish during the 55-lap feature event.
By way of his seventh place finish during his Friday night qualifying main, Kaeding and his BZE/Keith Kunz Motorsports team found his No.2 machine lined up in the 12th spot in one of the evenings B-mains, with only the top six finishers moving on to the finale.
Kaeding clawed his way forward, and snuck into the feature by way of a late charge that saw him grab the fifth position at the stripe, and lined him up in the 11th row of the main event.
With the main getting underway, Kaeding slowly began working his way through the field as he utilized the low line of the speedway.
On the 14th lap, Bud lost the handle, and sent his machine into a spin, bring out the final caution of the evening, and sending him to the back of the pack.
Over the final 41 laps, Kaeding was only able to get back up to the 19th spot as the race came to a close.
“It was a fun week, and was nice to make the show with 270 guys competing here,” said Kaeding. “19th isn’t the greatest finish, but I just have to thank BZE for giving me a car to race out here and Keith Kunz and his guys for working their tails off all week with all five of their cars out here.”
ON TAP: Bud will now head to Canyon, AZ on Friday January 27th, for the first part of the Winter Challenge.
