Darrah Has Forgettable Chili Bowl

PETERSEN MEDIA- The 2012 Chili Bowl Midget Nationals will be an event that Red Lion, PA driver, Cody Darrah, will like to quickly forget as he scored a 10th place finish in the Saturday night E-main.

Darrah’s weekend got kicked on with his Wednesday night prelim.

Things were off to a promising start for Darrah and his J&K Salvage/Factory Kahne Shocks/Don Ott powered No.89 as he grabbed the second spot in his heat, and transferred to an A qualifier.

A 6th place finish in his qualifier, forced Darrah into one of the twin B-main events, where the top four finishers would punch a ticket into the feature event.

During the B, Darrah would fall back from his third starting spot early, but the 22-year-old driver would come alive at the end and fight back to the fifth spot, just one spot short of transferring to the feature.

The lack of points earned from his prelim night saw Cody and his Darrah Motorsports team line up in the second row of one of the twin-E-main events during the Saturday program.

Needing to pass a lot of cars, the Darrah team tried some things in the E that were not effective, and Cody ended the 2012 Chili Bowl with a 10th place finish in his E-main.

“It was definitely not the Chili Bowl that we wanted to have,” explained Darrah. “It just shows how important it is to make the feature on your prelim night, and get as many points as possible. I have to thank my family and all of our supporters for getting us here. Now it’s time to get everything in order for the rest of 2012.”

Darrah would like to thank J&K Salvage, www.jksalvageco.com, Factory Kahne, All Star Performance, Schoenfeld Headers, and Hoosier Tires Mid-Atlantic for their support during this event.
