Bruce Charges to Sixth at Devils Bowl

PETERSEN MEDIA- Saturday night at the Devils Bowl Speedway, Tony Bruce, Jr proceeded to charge to a sixth place after racing through one of the twin B mains to make show.

Following a fourth place finish in his heat, TBJ did not earn enough points to transfer directly into the feature, and lined his Hinchman Racewear/Pro Auto/Oil Medics entry on the pole of the second B-main.

Wiring the field, Bruce and his Smiley’s/SWE/Maxwell Industries would line up in the ninth row for the 30-lap Lucas Oil ASCS National tour feature event.

Bruce wasted no time moving forward, as the Owasoo, OK driver had worked his way into the top 10 by the tenth circuit.

Dicing with some of the best in the business, Bruce was able to get past Sam Hafertepe, Jack Dover and Kyle Sauter to get up to the sixth spot.

With the race drawing to a close, Bruce and Michael Lang hooked up in a battle for the fifth spot.

Bruce actually held the advantage with five to go, but contact with an infield tire, allowed Lang back by, and he would hold on to the sixth spot at the stripe.

“It was a pretty good night considering where we started,” said Bruce. “With the field of cars we get, you don’t want to start in the back of these races, but I can’t complain about coming up to sixth.”

Bruce would like to thank all of his sponsors, Hinchman Racewear, Pro Auto, The Oil Medics, Smileys, SWE, Maxwell Industries, FK Rod Ends, Butlerbuilt, Factory Kahne Shocks, Randy’s Racing Filters, DriversWebsites.com, Racinboys.com, Wilwood, Zemco Headers, Hoosier Tires, Gaerte Engines, Pro Powder Coating, Fuel Safe, Bell, Weld Wheels, and ISC Racer’s Tape for their support through the 2012 season.

ON TAP: The one8 Motorsports team is now set for a pair of regional races as Friday night they will be in Waco, TX and Saturday they will travel to Willis, TX.
