Ryan Giles and TKS Motorsports to activate 2022 schedule with Knoxville Raceway’s season opener

MITCHELLVILLE, Iowa (April 20 2022) - Although their initial plan to activate the 2022 season with an IRA doubleheader at 34 Raceway was ultimately canceled due to Mother Nature, Ryan Giles and TKS Motorsports are ready to try again, this time setting aim on Knoxville Raceway’s 69th season opener, which is scheduled for this Saturday, April 23. Knoxville’s lidlifter was originally planned for April 16, but poor weather interfered.

Dubbed the Sprint Car Capital of the World, Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa, will be the team’s main point of focus in 2022, chasing not only victories, but a season championship to boot. Weekly competition at the Midwest staple, comprised of 12 point-earning events extending through August 27, will award $5,000-to-win each with the season champion earning $20,000.

“We’re excited to get this season underway. And what better way to get the year going than Knoxville Raceway’s season opener. Of course, we wouldn’t be able to do this without the help from all of our new and returning partners,” Troy Renfro said, owner of the TKS Motorsports No. 2KS. “Our goal is to get Ryan comfortable and hopefully contend for a win on our first night out. We have a long season ahead, but we’re excited.”

In all, Ryan Giles and TKS Motorsports will participate in roughly 35 events during the coming season with the intent to expand on those plans in 2023. In addition to weekly competition at Knoxville, TKS Motorsports will participate in many of sprint car racing’s marquee events such as the Huset’s High Bank Nationals on June 23-25, the coveted Knoxville Nationals on August 10-13, and the Jackson Nationals on August 18-20, each of which sanctioned by the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series.
