GLSS Makes Return to Wayne County Speedway Saturday

Orrville, OH (Saturday, April 29, 2022) - The Great Lakes Super Sprints Presented by Engine Pro and ARP (GLSS) is set to roll off for their second event of the 2022 season. The host for race number two is Wayne County Speedway in Orrville, Ohio, a destination GLSS attempted to compete at once before, but Mother Nature had other plans.

In 2021, GLSS was slated to make its inaugural run on the 3/8ths mile banked oval last spring, but persistent light rain ultimately brought the event to a halt before it could ever begin. Unfortunately, track and series officials were unable to find a suitable reschedule date. Therefore, Saturday night's events will be the first official race for GLSS at the Speedway.

Last Saturday, the 2022 season officially kicked off at Crystal Motor Speedway. Nearly 30 of the area's best 360 sprint cars unloaded for a chance at just 20 starting spots in the GLSS field. The race was an exciting one with Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series regular, Dylan Westbrook driving from his fifth starting spot to make a pass in lapped traffic around Chase Dunham for the win. An opening lap mishap involving half a dozen cars was the only slowdown of the 25 lap feature.

Gates at Wayne County Speedway open at 3pm with hot laps at 6pm and the first green flag of the night at 7pm.
