Dewease Posts Trio of Top-Tens

PETERSEN MEDIA: Lance Dewease endured a very eventful weekend, but the veteran driver still was stout and posted three top-ten finishes at Williams Grove, Lincoln, and the Selinsgrove Speedway.

Friday night was a wild night all across the country, with the vaunted ‘Friday the 13th” atmosphere also showing up at Williams Grove.

Dewease and many others felt the wrath of the weird night as the feature event fell victim to many caution flags, and unfortunately many tore up racecars.

On the fifth lap, Dewease was involved in a huge wreck, involving six cars, but the Viper Risk Management team got the No.30c repaired, and he was able to tag the rear of the field.

Dewease remained patient and calm during the wild feature, and rallied all the way back to a ninth place finish.

“It was a wild night, but my guys did a great job of getting me back together, and we came away with a decent finish,” said Dewease.

Saturday night he traveled to the Lincoln Speedway where he was so dominant one week ago, and again the Fayetteville, PA driver put a dominant run together.

“We have been good at Lincoln so far this year, and I’m hoping to get that strong at the rest of the tracks we visit this year,” quipped Dewease.

After finishing fourth in his heat, Dewease lined his Hanks Performance Products/Schaeffer Racing Oils/Penske Racing Shocks machine up in the sixth row of the 25-lap feature and he thrilled the crowd.

On the big, slick speedway, Dewease was coming hard through the pack while much of the attention was on the battle for the lead.

Getting into the top-five by the halfway point, Dewease got around Gerard McIntyre on the 19th lap for the third spot, but the lead duo was checked out, and Dewease settled for bronze.

“We had a heck-of-a car at Lincoln, but with only one caution it made it tough to catch the two leaders, they were pretty good, but I’m happy coming from 11th,” said Dewease.

Dewease and his team ended their weekend by posting his third top-ten of the weekend as he scored a seventh place finish at Susquehanna Speedway.
During the opening weekend at the track, Dewease showed up and worked his way to a seventh place finish.

“All in all it was a solid weekend for us,” said Dewease. “I am getting stronger, and we are continuing to get strong as a team.”
