ASCS Elite Non-Wing Ready For Rocket Raceway Return

Bryan Hulbert – PETTY, Texas (May 3, 2022) Returning to Petty, Texas for the first time since 2019, the ASCS Elite Non-Wing Series presented by Abilene Powder Coating will top the bill this Saturday, May 7 with a $3,000 to win showdown at Rocket Raceway Park.

Called 82-Speedway in the tour’s last trip, the night’s win went to Justin Zimmerman after chasing Gary Floyd the first half of the A-Feature. The track was purchased and renamed Rocket Raceway Park at the end of 2021 by Kevin Sustaire and Kevin Rogers.

Just off a two-night swing through south Texas last weekend, Waco’s Paul White has moved to the top of the points by 30 over Justin Zimmerman.

Discovering a failed engine after winning Friday’s Texana showdown, Zimmerman was forced to sit out Saturday’s trip to South Texas Race Ranch. Still very much in the fight, the absence has also brought series rookie, Kobe Simpson, into the mix as he trails Justin by 64 points, and White by 94. Caden McCreary holds fourth with Mason Smith in fifth.

Round 7 of the 2022 season, Saturday, May 7, will see the Pits open at 4:00 P.M., followed by the Grandstands at 5:00 P.M. Hot Laps at 6:30 P.M. will be followed by Racing at 7:00 P.M. (CDT). Tickets are $20 for Adults, $17 for Senior and Military, $8 for Youth (6-12), and free for Kids five and under.

Along with the ASCS Elite Non-Wing Series presented by Abilene Powder Coating, the lineup of classes includes USRA Stock Cars, Limited Modifieds, Eco Modifieds, Factory Stocks, Junior Limited Modifieds, and Trooper Cruisers.

Rocket Raceway Park is located at 16369 US Hwy 82 in Petty, Texas. Information on the track is online at http://rocketracewaypark.com, or by calling (903) 413-8003. You can also follow the track at https://www.facebook.com/RocketRacewayPark.
