Lance Dewease Battles All Stars In PA

PETERSEN MEDIA: Competing weekly in Pennsylvania is tough in itself. Throw in the UNOH All Star Circuit of Champions, and you have a very star studded field of cars, and over the weekend, Lance Dewease scored 14th and 16th place finishes competing against some of the stiffest competition around.

“No doubt it was a star studded field both nights with about 40 cars each night, but we are better then the results we showed this weekend,” said Dewease.

Action got kicked off Friday night at the Williams Grove Speedway, a weekly stop for Dewease, and his struggles started off in time trials.

With 47 cars checked into the event, Dewease’s 27th fast effort put him outside of the inversion and put him in the back all night long.

“Timing in outside the heat inversion really sets a bad tone for the rest of the night, and puts a ton of pressure on as your in the back all night,” he continued.

Starting seventh in his heat, Dewease scored the fifth and final transfer spot into the feature, where he lined up scratch on the field, in the 24th position.

In the feature, Dewease was able to move forward, but not as far as he would of liked.

Battling deep in traffic, Dewease kept his nose clean and stayed out of harms way as he ended up finishing in the 16th spot.

“Being at these big tracks in PA it’s tough to start deep in the field and be stuck in dirty air,” the veteran quipped. “My guys worked hard all night and gave me a pretty good car.”

Saturday night the scene shifted to Port Royal Speedway for the Bob Weikert Memorial.

Dewease’s qualifying efforts improved as he timed in 18th quick, and put himself in the front row of his heat race.

Scoring a second place finish, Dewease made the direct transfer to the feature and lined his Viper Risk Management/Hank’s Performance Parts/Maxim No.30c up in the 17th spot.

Again stuck mid pack, Dewease tried multiple lines to get moving forward, but unfortunately he Fayetteville, PA driver simply wasn’t able to charge forward, and ended his night with a 14th place finish.
“We timed in a lot better at Port Royal, but in the feature we just couldn’t get moving forward. No excuses, we just weren’t where we needed to be, and it’s something to build off of,” Dewease explained.

Dewease would like to thank Viper Risk Management Group, Wings Unlimited,?Hank’s Performance Products, Schaeffer Racing Oils,?Penske Racing Shocks, ?FK Rodends,?Keizer Aluminum Wheels,?DMI Racing Components,?Astro Titanium,?Morrison Racing Engines,?Tom Shockey Collision, Kirkey Seats, FW Graphics,?WRT Web Designs,?WRT SpeedWerx, ViperVenom Fuels, and Schoenfeld Headers for their continued support.

ON TAP: Dewease will be back in action this weekend for two nights of action kicking off Friday, May 4th at Williams Grove in a Time Trial event, followed by a Cinco De Mayo slugfest at the Lincoln Speedway.
