Inside Line Promotions – WHEATLAND, Mo. (May 17, 2022) – Garet Williamson earned a top-10 result in both 410ci and 360ci winged sprint car competition last weekend.

The Bryant Paver Motorsports driver was stout in a 410 on Friday at Jacksonville Speedway in Jacksonville, Ill., where he hustled from sixth to third place in a heat race before finishing second during a feature that was deemed official after rain struck just before the midpoint.

“We went there and did everything we were supposed to do except win,” he said. “And I think if we could have raced and ended up in traffic we’d have had a shot.”

The team swapped engines for an ASCS Warrior Region and ASCS Sooner Region event on Saturday at Lucas Oil Speedway, where Williamson placed second in a heat race. That started him on the inside of the fifth row in the A Main.

“We were fast, but we needed to win our heat race,” he said. “In the feature we got up to fifth, but it was one lane around the top and it rubbered up in turns one and two. I was trying to pass cars and was moving around and we ended up losing a couple of positions.”

Williamson’s seventh-place result was his 13th top 10 of the season.

He returns to Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour competition this Friday and Saturday at Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, Ill.

“We raced one time there last year,” he said. “We were running third and went to pass for second and I hit a hole, the car got upset and we spun out with a couple of laps to go.

“I think we’ll be good this weekend. It’s a track that fits our style of racing. We had speed last year so I don’t see any reason why we can’t be competitive this weekend.”
