Inside Line Promotions – ATTICA, Ohio (May 24, 2022) – Greg Wilson earned his best World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series result since July 2019 last Friday at Attica Raceway Park.

Inclement weather kept the Seeling Motorsports driver from competing with the Tezos All Star Circuit of Champions during a three-race weekend in Wisconsin.

“Andy (Potter) was a couple of hours for the shop and I was on the other side by Chicago,” Wilson said. “The weather was just so sketchy. We were talking on the phone and I kept looking at the weather. I told Andy I’m not seeing them racing tonight and Saturday’s forecast was worse. He turned around and I was five and a half hours away.”

Wilson returned to his home state to tackle the World of Outlaws event.

“We were fortunate the backup plan was a race close to home,” he said. “You go to a place you’re familiar with, where the best cars in the country are and you hope you can be competitive. We feel if we can get in the features we should be okay. That’s the way it played out.”

Wilson guided the Hercules Tires, Ohio Logistics and DNC Hydraulics backed entry to the 17th quickest qualifying time in his group. He then advanced from ninth to seventh in a heat race and from sixth to third in the Last Chance Showdown.

“We had some issues and were not where we needed to be early, but we passed a couple of cars in the heat to put us in a better spot for the LCS,” he said. “Then we passed some cars in the LCS to make the A Main. We’ve been doing some things with the setup and trying to fine-tune to be better. Andy kept adjusting and adjusting. It got me comfortable and he could see some of the things going on. By feature-time we were pretty good.”

Wilson rallied from 23rd to ninth in the main event to garner the Hard Charger Award for passing the most cars.

“To pass the cars we were passing, I was pretty happy,” he said. “I feel if we could have started three or four spots better we’d have ran toward the top five. We were pretty good in comparison to everybody else. Toward the end we might have used our stuff up trying to get there, but with a different starting spot or a caution timed a little different we could have ended up a little better than we were. Overall, we were pleased with the way the night ended.”

Next up for the team is a pair of races on Friday and Saturday at Atomic Speedway in Waverly, Ohio. The second night is a World of Outlaws event.
