Inside Line Promotions – LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (June 27, 2022) – Derek Hagar powered to his third straight 360ci winged sprint car feature triumph last Saturday during an ASCS Mid-South Region event at I-30 Speedway.

Hagar now has a 297-point lead in the region’s championship standings following his fifth victory in seven races this year.

“The day started off bad,” he said. “We had a blow out on the way there and sat on the side of the interstate about three or three and a half hours. We didn’t get to the track until a little after seven, but we got there in time to make hot laps.”

Hagar advanced from sixth to second place in a heat race.

“That put us second in points so we lined up on the outside of the front row in the A Main,” he said. “We were able to get the lead right off. Cody Gardner gave us a couple of bids for the lead. We were able to drive back around him. We led every lap of the race. It was good to overcome the setback we had early in the day.”

Hagar is planning to race this Saturday at Riverside International Speedway in West Memphis, Ark., and Sunday at Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, Miss., with the USCS Series.

“We have momentum on our side and things are going well,” he said. “I have to give a lot of thanks to Tracy Evans, my fitness coach, for getting me in as good of shape as I’m in. At the end of the race when some guys start to slide out of the seat I’m just getting ready. I’m not saying we’ve been slacking, but I haven’t felt this confident in many years.”
