POWRi Lightning Sprint Weekly | POWRi MKLS Summer Shoot Out | August 11-14

Belleville, IL. (8/15/22) Finding the second POWRi Lightning Sprint National event this season, competitors from the north would welcome their driving counterparts from around the country as the POWRi Minn-Kota Lightning Sprints Summer Shoot Out would take center stage. After the four-days of action national point-leader Alex Truscinski would earn the weeklong title by proving overall consistency can claim championships and never placing outside the top-five.

Thursday at Norman County Raceway would find Minn-Kota representative Alan Truscinski take the top spot with Colorado open-wheeler Chris Crowder battling for second as Canadian talent Eric Sunborg placed third with Dexter Dvergsten and Alex Truscinski rounding out the first night’s top-five finishers.

River Cities Speedway would welcome the shootout with outstanding feature front-end action on Friday as Brent Sexton would use a late-race restart to earn the night’s feature victory. One-time leader Alex Truscinski would end up runner-up with Kelsi Pederson placing third, Eric Sunborg finishing fourth, and previous night's winner Alan Truscinski all inside the first five finishers of the field.

Saturday the series would travel to the northern-most Greenbush Race Park as Night-One Winner Alan Truscinski would again emerge victorious on the hidden gem of a facility with Colorado wheelman Josiah King and Greenbush-talent Dexter Dvergsten complete the podium as fellow Minn-Kota competitors Kate Taves and Alex Truscinski placed inside the top-five.

Wrapping up the four days of action at Buffalo River Speedway on Sunday would witness Grant Sexton show off his California skills to earn the top spot finishing first leaving Chris Crowder to place runner-up. Series point leader Alex Truscinski would finish third with Josh Flood fourth and Stephane St Laurent rounding out the final feature’s top-five finishers.
