Hirst Scores Pair of Top Five’s With ASCS

PETERSEN MEDIA- Kyle Hirst spent the past week competing with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour as they invaded the state of California, and he proceeded to score a pair of top five finishes after failing to make the show on Wednesday night.

Wednesday Hirst was at the helm of the Vertullo Motorsports No.83v as he took to the Placerville Speedway.

Starting in the second row of his heat race, Hirst did not get off to a good start aboard his Starr Property Management machine and ended up slipping back to the fifth spot where he found himself in one of the night’s B main events.

Starting seventh in the B, Hirst would need to move into the top three to earn a transfer spot into the feature event. Though he gave it a valiant effort, Hirst finished in the fourth spot and failed to transfer into the feature.

Saturday night he returned to action at the Kings Speedway in Hanford, CA as he climbed aboard the Dennis and Teresa Roth No.83 machine.

In Hanford, Hirst found himself in the third row of a very stout heat race, but the Sacramento, CA native was able to work his way up to the third spot, and earn a spot in the re-draw in which he would pull the five pill.

As the feature got underway, Hirst quickly found himself in a dog fight with Jason Meyers. The two repeatedly swapped positions as they worked inside the top five.

With Meyers finally getting the better of Hirst, KH would hang on to score a fourth place finish.

Sunday night he continued on with the Roth Motorsports team as they headed to the coast, Santa Maria, CA, to close out the ASCS National Tour’s West Coast swing.

Starting in the second row of his heat, KH scored a third place finish, which put him in the 10th spot for the 30-lap feature event.

Hirst simply put on a show as he ran the ragged edge of the Santa Maria Speedway as he manhandled his HR Cattle/HR Livestock Transportation machine on the cushion.

Hirst slowly picked off Logan Forler, and Gary Wright as he got in the third position late in the race, and set his sights on second running, Brady Bacon.

With two to go, Hirst was able to slid up in front of Bacon out of turn four, but Bacon was able to get the second spot back as they ran in turns one and two.

Going to the top in three and four on the last lap, Hirst beat Jason Johnson in a drag-race down the front stretch as the duo made contact at the flag stand.

“Man I can’t say enough about this Roth Motorsports team,” said Hirst. “They continually give me a great car and it’s just a pleasure to drive. I can’t thank Dennis and Teresa Roth enough for giving me such a great opportunity.”

Kyle and his Roth Motorsports team would like to thank HR Cattle, and HR Livestock Transportation for their support in 2012.

ON TAP: KH will be in action this weekend in a pair of non-winged races aboard the Vertullo Motorsports machine. Hirst will be in action on Friday at the Silver Dollar Speedway before returning to the Placerville Speedway on Saturday.
