Willie Croft, Andy Gregg & a look back at the "Pombo/Sargent Classic" from June

(We had the chance to speak with Willie Croft in the pits a couple weeks ago at Chico and we'll share that on "KWS Tonight" this evening, along with a glimpse at his victory in Marysville last season with the King of the West Series.)

Special wins happen to come around from time to time each year and on “KWS Tonight” this evening we take a look back at two memorable nights from last season, along with continuing our recap of the 2012 campaign.

To view the show log onto http://www.kwssprints.com starting at 7pm pst on Thursday. It will then replay on the homepage to watch at your leisurely pleasure over the next week. Archived shows from this year are available at http://vimeo.com/kingofthewestsprints/videos

First up we’ll relive Willie Croft’s victory from April of 2011 in Marysville, which marked his third career traveling 410 series win.

We also had the chance to catch up with Croft in the pits a couple weeks ago in Chico to talk about the current season and get his thoughts on how his year has gone. The Sacramento driver sits just three-markers out of fifth in the King of the West standings going into the finale at Kings Speedway on October 13.

After that we will take a look back at Andy Gregg’s first career traveling 410 series win that occurred in May of last year at the Santa Maria Speedway.

Like Croft, we also had the opportunity to speak with Gregg in Chico on August 18 and we’ll feature that interview on the show as well. The Placerville wheel-man currently stands eighth in the KWS driver standings and is coming off a runner up effort to Tim Kaeding during that most recent event at Silver Dollar Speedway.

One of the most exciting races of this season so far was the annual “Pombo/Sargent Classic” at Kings Speedway and that is next up in our continuing recap of 2012, as we gear up for championship night on October 13. Campbell’s Bud Kaeding & Scotts Valley’s Evan Suggs had fans on the edge of their seats at the “Pombo/Sargent Classic” in June, with it ending in Kaeding’s third career win at the event.
