Smack dab in the middle of the usual sprint car late-year “special events season” in California “KWS Tonight” will be on the net this evening featuring interviews with young gun Zach Zimmerly, Silver Dollar Speedway announcer Troy Hennig, Willie Croft and more.

To view the show log onto http://www.kwssprints.com starting at 7pm on Thursday. It will then replay on the homepage to watch at your leisurely pleasure over the next week. One of those special events on tap this weekend is the 21st annual Fall Nationals at Silver Dollar Speedway and we’ll get thoughts on upcoming weekend from track announcer/ communications guru Troy Hennig. In addition to that we’ll talk with Hennig about the great championship battle during the weekly 410 Sprint Car series at SDS this season.

In 2010 Vancouver, Washington’s Zach Zimmerly made a big splash in California and west coast sprint car racing, before taking most of last season & this year off. The now 18-year-old has been back behind the wheel the last two weeks and we’ll get him on the line to talk about his excitement to be back in action driving for Willie Croft.

Along those lines we’ll also talk with Croft about what it’s like to be a car owner and see someone else behind the wheel of his Holy Smokes BBQ No. 29 mount. “Double Down” will jump back aboard the 29 for the KWS season ending “Cotton Classic” and we’ll get some words about how he is preparing for it. Croft sits just three points behind Jason Statler for fifth in the series standings.

On the “Kaeding Performance Flashback” we’ll take a peek at the 2006 “Pombo/Sargent Classic” at Thunderbowl Raceway, where Campbell’s Brent Kaeding showed why he’s a 13-time Golden State 410 champion by sweeping the weekend. There was also drama on and off the track between Robert Ballou & Jonathan Allard, making for a memorable weekend at the very warm Tulare oval.

One of the most exciting events from this season came on July 7 at the “Howard Kaeding Classic” in Watsonville and we’ll showcase that during our continuing look back at 2012 to get ready for championship night on October 13. Jonathan Allard and Shane Golobic kept fans on the edge of their seats for the duration of the 30-lapper.

Remember to get you tickets ordered for the upcoming KWS championship banquet weekend on November 9 & 10 at the Jackson Rancheria Casino Resort. Next week’s episode of “KWS Tonight” will feature an evening with Trophy Cup founder Dave Pusateri, as we learn the history behind the prestigious event and introduce everyone to the man behind the scenes. This season’s Trophy Cup will be held on October 18, 19 & 20 at Thunderbowl Raceway and pays $20,000 to the overall champion of the Winged Sprint Car portion event.
