Kyle Hirst/ Scott Woodhouse/ 97 Mini Gold Cup/ a look at Fernley 95a & more

(Kings Speedway promoter Scott Woodhouse will join us on "KWS Tonight" this week to talk about the "Cotton Classic" and how the year has gone down in Hanford)

It’s time to crown a King of the West Sprint Car Series champion this Saturday night at the Cotton Classic! Before that however, the “KWS Tonight” gang will hit the net to get everyone ready for the big show at Kings Speedway in Hanford!

To view the show log onto http://www.kwssprints.com starting at 7pm on Thursday. It will then replay on the homepage to watch at your leisurely pleasure over the next week.

This week’s show will be fully loaded with fun stuff and features interviews with Sacramento wheel-man Kyle Hirst, Kings Speedway promoter Scott Woodhouse and former KWS Video Productions Manager “Tailgate” Rodriguez.

Hirst this weekend will be aboard the Roth Motorsports No. 83Jr. sprinter & we’ll get his thoughts on the season so far, which has seen him claim a number of victories, both with and without the wing. We’ll then have Woodhouse on the line to discuss the year at Kings Speedway and how excited he is for the “Cotton Classic” this Saturday night.

In addition to the many KWS regulars that will be on hand at Kings Speedway this Saturday, other big names set to be action include Jason Meyers, Kyle Larson, Rico Abreu, Bud Kaeding, Sean Becker, Shane Golobic, Stephen Allard and more.

Finally we’ll have an update from our old pal and former KWS Video guru “Tailgate” Rodriguez on what he has been up to. Fans have been asking us at every event what “Tailgate” has been up to and this week on “KWS Tonight” we will find out.

We will also share with everyone our recent visit to the Fernley 95A Speedway in Nevada for their two day shootout event. The Golden State 410 Series competed at the track in 2004 & ’06 and the King of the West Series will be bringing 410 Sprint Car racing back to Fernley next season.

The 410 Flashback presented by Kaeding Performance will take a look back at the 1997 “Mini Gold Cup” at Chico’s Silver Dollar Speedway. The always exciting and hard charging Randy Tiner ended the weekend in victory lane while driving brother Rodney’s No. 83 mount. Jason Statler opened the weekend in victory lane aboard his DF Rios No. 00 machine.

We will also finish up our look back at this season’s weekly highlights with the most recent KWS event held on August 18 at the Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico. Two-time Golden State KWS champ Tim Kaeding scored his fifth win of the year that night with Andy Gregg and Peter Murphy rounding out the popular podium.
