SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (June 7, 2023) - A week that is certainly synonymous with All Star Circuit of Champions competition, Ohio Sprint Speedweek, celebrating its 41st occasion in 2023, will hit high gear on Friday evening, June 9, at Attica Raceway Park, officially activating a nine-day, eight-race campaign across the Buckeye State culminating with Portsmouth Raceway Park’s Dean Knittel Memorial on Saturday, June 17. The sixth annual marquee will award $22,554-to-win.

In addition to Attica’s opener and Portsmouth’s finale, Ohio Sprint Speedweek will take Ohio’s finest and the All Stars to Fremont Speedway on June 10, Wayne County Speedway on June 11-12, Sharon Speedway on June 13, Atomic Speedway on June 15, and Eldora Speedway on June 16.

Scotty Thiel, ace of Pete Grove’s Premier Motorsports, Walker’s Game Ear, Lumber & Things, Professional Plating, Scott Thiel Builders, Stealth Cam, Muddy Outdoors, Lutes Custom Cabinetry, Linc Systems, Complete Water Inc, No. 70 sprint car, will roll into the new edition of Ohio Sprint Speedweek fresh off of a recent top-five in the Empire State, scoring a hard-fought fourth-place finish during action at Weedsport Speedway in Weedsport, New York, on Sunday, May 21. The Sheboygan, Wisconsin, native has two top-fives on the season, scoring the first in his home state during a visit to Wilmot Raceway on Saturday, May 13.

Speaking of Wisconsin, recent All Star competition took Thiel and Premier Motorsports back to the Badger State on Friday and Saturday, June 2-3, visiting Dodge County Fairgrounds and Plymouth Dirt Track in consecutive fashion. Thiel’s homecoming was highlighted with a 14th-place rally in Plymouth’s $26,000-to-win Rayce Rudeen Foundation Race, advancing three positions in the 35-lap contest.

“Not the return to Wisconsin we wanted, but we’ll shake it off and look at the bigger picture,” Thiel stated. “Our plan is to use Speedweek to our advantage and kick start the season. There’s a lot of money on the line all week. We want to take some of that home with us.”

As hinted, Thiel’s Ohio criss-cross will lead to some big money potential, as the event at Fremont Speedway, and the second night at Wayne County, will each award $10,000. Eldora’s visit will also award five figures, paying the winner $12,000.
