Zearfoss perseveres at River Cities; West bound to Washington

JONESTOWN, Pa. (August 28, 2023) - The “Jonestown Jet” Brock Zearfoss basically did the unthinkable Friday night at River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks, North Dakota, not only capping the evening with a hard charging performance from the back of the field, but doing so after a lap 15 visit to the work area. The work area trip was nothing short of hectic, as the Jonestown, Pennsylvania, native was actually upside-down in his on-track incident, collected by another competitor in a nowhere to go situation.

Regardless, repairs were made and Zearfoss returned, eventually charging his way all the way back to a tenth-place result, locking down the evening’s Hard Charger Award. The top ten was Zearfoss’ seventh of the 2023 season, still ninth in the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series championship standings.

“Just an incredible effort,” Zearfoss, ace of the Moose’s LZ Bar & Grill, Heavy Equipment, Loaders & Parts Inc., C&D Rigging Inc., Klick Lewis Cars, J.P. Adamsky Trucking, Milton Hershey School, A. Lane Living, No. 3Z sprint car, explained. “To recover like that says a lot and I’m proud of our results. Looking forward to this trip to the Pacific Northwest. A lot of money is on the line and we’re ready to throw our hat in the ring.”

Although missing another top-ten notch, Zearfoss’ effort at Red River Valley Speedway in West Fargo, North Dakota, on Saturday, August 26, also featured forward progress, this time advancing five spots to finish 15th.
