Randall and TKS Motorsports impressive in Knoxville’s Season Championship program; Shelby County double next on agenda

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

MITCHELLVILLE, Iowa (August 28, 2023) - Chase Randall and TKS Motorsports intended to end their 2023 Knoxville Raceway campaign on a high note, and that’s exactly what they did, ultimately closing out the track’s regular season with an impressive hard-fought rally from near the back to finish within the top-five. Randall, a 2023 Knoxville Nationals A-Main qualifier, finished fourth in his charge to the front, commencing his effort from 15th on the grid. The outcome secured TKS Motorsports their sixth top-five of the season, one of which a podium during Knoxville Nationals preliminary action on Wednesday, August 9.

Utilizing a late-race restart to his advantage, Randall, who calls Waco, Texas, home, powered into fourth on lap 21, scooting by Brian Brown in the process all before briefly pressuring eventual Knoxville Raceway track champion, Austin McCarl, for third. Although unable to get by McCarl, Randall settled into fourth officially, maintaining his place within the frontrunners for the next few circuits.

It should be noted that Randall won the evening’s 360 sprint car main event at Knoxville Raceway, which solidified a first-ever track championship in that respective division.

“A great way to end the Knoxville Raceway season. We’re very proud of Chase’s efforts, but this team is not done yet,” Troy Renfro, owner of the TKS Motorsports, Albaugh - Your Alternative, Iowa Barnstormers, Des Moines Industrial Products, deWit Construction, Jersey Freeze Ice Cream, No. 2KS sprint car, said. “We’re going to take a weekend off before getting back at it at Shelby County the following weekend. It’s tough to think we’re already into the month of September, but we have big ambitions for the last part of our season.”

ON DECK:
TKS Motorsports will continue their 2023 campaign with an off weekend, followed by Shelby County Speedway’s two-day Cyclone Classic on Friday and Saturday, September 8-9. With Chase Randall having other obligations, Kaleb Johnson will fill the seat for TKS Motorsports in their upcoming visit to Shelby County.
