BAPS PA Speedweek Event to Pay $10,000 to Win

YORK HAVEN, Pa.: There was very little hesitation when BAPS Motor Speedway General Manager Kolten Gouse received a phone call from Pennsylvania Speedweek Organizer Alan Kreitzer.

The conversation centered around the 10-race Speedweek series becoming bigger and better, and Gouse was all in and ready to do his part.

Gouse and BAPS Motor Speedway Owner Scott Gobrecht are always looking to enhance the York Haven, Pa., speedway’s schedule. So, it was an easy decision to make the Engler Machine and Tool PA Speedweek presented by Hoseheads.com bigger and better in 2024 by increasing the first-place check to $10,000.

“Pennsylvania Speedweek has become one of the staples in this region,” Gouse said. “I think it’s important to continue to make this series better for drivers, teams, and fans who support it every year.

“This is our way of helping to add to Speedweek. This also gives us a chance to make a race on our schedule even bigger and increase the BAPS Motor Speedway brand.”

The Super Sportsman will also be on the Sunday, July 30 program. Pit gates open at 4 p.m., with grandstands opening at 5 p.m. Racing is at 7 p.m. Adults are $30, with seniors getting a ticket for $25. Students are $20.

To celebrate Pennsylvania Speedway, the first 100 fans through the gate wearing a BAPS Motor Speedway T-Shirt will receive a free $5 gift card to be used at the speedway concession stand.

Brent Marks was the winner of the 2021, with rain wiping out the 2022 race. Anthony Macri is the defending champion of the event.

“It’s an honor to be part of Pennsylvania Speedweek, and we are proud to be on the schedule,” Gouse said. “The 2021 and 2023 events were a success with good racing and a nice fan turnout, and we look forward to making it bigger and better this year.”
