Mountain Creek Speedway in conjunction with promoters, Adam and Rebecca Stewart have made the executive decision to forgo the 2023 championship banquet to prepare for the upcoming 2024 season of racing. Although unfortunate, necessary arrangements needed to be made to move forward with racing that resumes on April 27th and 28th at “The Cage at the Creek.”
“We understand this is unfortunate.” Said track owner and promoter, Adam Stewart, but we also needed to work on the current issues at hand for us to get back to racing.” At the beginning of the year, Mountain Creek Speedway has been dealing with zoning issues with Catawba County which slowed activities at the track until legal matters could be resolved. This brought activities like a championship award ceremony, practice, and testing days to a complete halt. In an effort to recognize the feats of the 2023 champions, Mountain Creek Speedway officials have agreed to a championship awards presentation for all divisional champions at the first race of the season for flat karts, outlaw karts and micros.” It is not the most ideal of situations.” Said track owner and promoter, Adam Stewart. “We did however, wanted to take some time to honor those champions for their hard work and support of our race track”
Before racing begins on April 27th and 28th the speedway will call the divisional champions to victory lane for their championship trophy presentation. Competitors who have won a divisional championship please contact the speedway, Derek Pernesiglio or Adam Stewart directly for their championship jacket/suit information. The first race of the 2024 season begins Saturday April, 27th with our traditional Flat Kart Saturday’s. On Sunday April 28th the track will host outlaw kart and micro sprint competition.
