Inside Line Promotions – PUYALLUP, Wash. (April 16, 2024) – Trey Starks has anticipated the start of the 2024 racing season following two of the most successful years of his sprint car career.

Starks will start this season on Saturday at Grays Harbor Raceway in Elma, Wash., where he earned a podium result during all three 360ci winged sprint car starts last year. Starks was victorious during the Prelude to the World of Outlaws, giving him at least one victory at the track each of the last three years. In fact, Starks has scored eight wins at Grays Harbor Raceway during that span.

“I think it’s a product of having a million laps,” he said. “I’ve raced there since 2010. We don’t run it as much, but it’s the closest to home so technically it’s my home track. It’s grown to be one of my favorite tracks to race on. We seem to have a lot of success there. It’s my type of track. It’s big for around here and it’s wide and usually has a lot of room to race.

“Right now my trailer is being worked on and it looks like it will be finished. We’re working on a backup plan as well. So one way or another I think we’re racing this weekend unless the weather becomes a problem.”

The racing plan for this year is similar to the last three years for Starks, who has amassed 24 feature triumphs in the Northwest since shifting his focus to racing part-time in the region while he and his family continue to grow a successful business. Starks will look to defend his back-to-back 410ci winged sprint car track championships at Skagit Speedway in Alger, Wash., and he will fill in with 360 races when the schedule allows.

“We want to pick up where we left off the last couple of years,” he said. “We know we have speed at these tracks. I’d say our main focus this year is to maintain the consistency we’ve had, maintain the speed. I want to one way or another have better showings at the bigger shows and the main ones are Dirt Cup and the High Limit weekend. No matter how we’ve been performing throughout the year we always have something come up. Last year’s World of Outlaws weekend was a disaster as we hurt two cars in two nights. With that said, we’re not looking to change a lot. We have a good package at pretty much all the local tracks. We’ll do what we do and hope for some better luck.”
