Coming off a podium finish in the Illini 100 a weekend prior, Kyle Steffens kicked off his pursuit for the USAC Silver Crown National Championship on Saturday night with the season opener at Toledo Speedway (Toledo, Ohio).
With his qualifying effort positioning him on the eighth row for the Hemelgarn Racing/Super Fitness Rollie Beale Classic 100-lap A-Main, Steffens climbed three positions to register a 12th-place finish.
