R&R Enterprises Becomes Title Sponsor of National Open Benefit

Annual event to take place during Morgan Hughes National Open weekend

MECHANICSBURG, PA. – May 22, 2013 – Two very familiar names in the world of Sprint Car racing are teaming up for an exceptional cause.

Kolten Gouse Promotions is pleased to announce that R&R Enterprises, a screen-printing and merchandising company located near St. Louis, Mo., has agreed to become the title sponsor of the National Open Benefit, a annual fundraising event which will be held on Saturday, October 5 at Williams Grove Speedway near Mechanicsburg, Pa. The event will take place in the backstretch pit area on one of Sprint Car racings biggest weekends.

“R&R Enterprises is proud to be a supporter of the National Open Benefit,” Phil Rideout, R&R Enterprises owner, said. “It is an honor to be associated with such an excellent cause that does so much for racers and their families. The Morgan Hughes National Open weekend is one of the most exciting and intense racing weekends in the country and having this event coincide with that is certainly a great boost to the fundraising efforts.”

In addition to title sponsorship from R&R, ButlerBuilt Professional Seats is also supporting the event as a presenting sponsor.

“I'm really glad that R&R Enterprises and ButlerBuilt Professional Seats have gotten behind this event and are committed to making it grow,” Gouse said. “Their sponsorship enables us to get several items in place so that we can focus on raising money through selling tickets to our chicken BBQ, selling event shirts and auctioning off donated racing memorabilia. Our goal this year is to surpass the $16,000 we raised in 2012. I certainly believe we are well on our way to doing that.”

Lisa and Vince Magaro started the National Open Benefit in 2008 shortly after Sprint Car driver John Westbrook was involved in a vicious crash at
Williams Grove Speedway. The proceeds went to help Westbrook and his family with medical expenses. Since then, the event has grown with Gouse, a Mechanicsburg native and crewmember for Kasey Kahne Racing, signing on as a co-promoter in 2011. For 2013, the Magaro's have handed the reins off to Gouse entirely.

Proceeds from the extravaganza will go to the York County Racing Club Injured Driver's Fund, the World of Outlaws Benevolent Fund and the newest beneficiary of the benefit, the Steve King Foundation, based out of Jetmore, Kan.

The charity event will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 5 with a chicken BBQ that will serve up to 400 people. Cost is $8 per person. The auction begins at 1:00 p.m., followed by an autograph session with World of Outlaws drivers at 2:30 p.m. In addition to the benefit, the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame Museum and the Eastern Museum of Motor Racing will also be holding an auction in the same area from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
