First World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car driver to win back-to-back nights in 2013

KANSAS CITY, Kan. - June 7, 2013 - For the second consecutive night, Craig Dollansky dominated the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series main event, this time winning the FVP Outlaws at Lakeside on Saturday at Lakeside Speedway.

After demolishing the field on Friday at 34 Raceway, Dollansky followed it up on Saturday at Lakeside with a race that was almost as impressive to become the first driver this season to win on back-to-back nights, giving him four victories this season in the Eyecon Trail Cameras Maxim.

The win also gives him 57 victories in his career, moving him ahead of Jac Haudenschild and Jason Meyers and into sole possession of 10th place all-time.

"It's a great race team, we were struggling a little bit, but we're starting to sort things out a little bit," said Dollansky, of Elk River, Minn. "I'm pretty happy with our race team right now and I'm real happy for Eyecon Trail Cameras, Big Game Treestands and all the people from Big Game that support us."

Jason Sides earned the pole in the Wetherington Tractor Service Maxim and charged out to a quick lead before Dollansky moved in front on a lap-3 restart and drove away to win by more than 5 seconds. Sides held on to finish second, equaling his best finishes of the season on March 6 and March 7 at the Las Vegas Dirt Track.

"He was gone, and we could see him a little bit when he got into some traffic, but after that it was over," said Sides, of Bartlett, Tenn. "Actually it laid a little rubber down early and it seemed like it helped us once it did rubber up a little bit, we weren't near as loose as what we were."

Sammy Swindell used the high groove to power his way from eighth to finish third, earning the KSE Hard Charger Award.

"We came on some stuff finally with the car, the whole team has been working real hard," said Swindell, of Germantown, Tenn. "We've been trying some different things and sometimes it's making us look bad, but we're learning from that. We tried some things, the car was completely different so we had to make some other changes, and we still didn't hit it right, but it was better in the race than what we have been in a while."

World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series championship leader Daryn Pittman bounced back from a DNF on Friday by collecting a fourth-place finish, marking his 20th top-five run in 31 events this year. Pitman's Kasey Kahne Racing teammate, Cody Darrah, rounded out the top five.

The World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series is back in action Sunday night to wrap up the three-day weekend with the NAPA Auto Parts Outlaw Showdown at I-80 Speedway in Greenwood, Neb.
