ASCS Northwest Gearing Up For Bully Dog Performance Speedweek

Ben Deatherage - ELMA, Wash (June 12, 2013) In just a few short weeks drivers of the American Sprint Car Series-Northwest Region will embark on a seven race stretch in a period of nine days at five different tracks in the states of Washington and Oregon.

The Bully Dog Performance Speedweek Northwest will collect the best 360 Sprint drivers in the Northwest and abroad in heart pounding dirt slinging action night after night. This year will mark the sixteenth edition of this competition which dates back to 1998 with the now defunct Northern Sprint Tour.

“Fans and drivers look forward to this deal every single year,” commented Brian Crockett, Series Director of the ASCS-Northwest Region, “it’s a lot of racing and for crews a lot of long days with little to no sleep. We’re so glad that Bully Dog Performance has come back to support this wonderful set of events.”

The 2013 Bully Dog Performance Speedweek Northwest will kick off on Friday June 28th and Saturday the 29th at Grays Harbor Raceway in Elma, Washington. It will mark the only two races in the Evergreen State as they will finish the rest of the competition down in Oregon.

Taking Sunday June 30th off for traveling the drivers get back to the grind on Monday July 1st at the Southern Oregon Speedway in White City located just outside of the Medford/Central Point vicinity. The tour will head north for a night at the coast at the scenic Coos Bay Speedway on Tuesday the 2nd before heading up to the gorgeous Willamette Speedway on Wednesday the 3rd in Lebanon.

Independence Day will be a day of rest for drivers and teams alike on Thursday July 4th as they gear up for the final two nights of action. Those two nights will take place at the Cottage Grove Speedway on Friday the 5th and Saturday the 6th. It will mark the first time ever in the history of Speedweek that the extravaganza ends at the ¼-mile bullring oval.

In the last fifteen editions of Bully Dog Performance Speedweek Northwest there have been nine different champions. Steve Kent has the most, with four titles, while Roger Crockett has three and Brent Kaeding with two.

Six drivers have won the entire kit and caboodle just once which is a very impressive list of winners. That list includes Brad Furr, Jesse Hockett, Bud Kaeding, Kyle Larson, Shane Stewart, and the 2012 victor Mitch Olson.

In other news when Bully Dog Speedweek Northwest concludes the ASCS-Northwest will be gearing up for the Northwest Swing by the ASCS-National Tour.

There will be six events taking place over the course of three consecutive weekends at three different tracks.

The ASCS-National tour will visit the Grays Harbor Raceway on Friday July 12th and Saturday 13th. The next week they will trek south to the Cottage Grove Speedway on Friday the 19th and Saturday the 20th. The stint will finish up at Willamette Speedway on Friday the 26th and Saturday the 27th.
