YORK HAVEN, Pa.: When BAPS Motor Speedway General Manager Kolten Gouse and track owner Scott Gobrecht sit down to map out the upcoming season schedule, one word comes to mind …. Variety.
It’s been that way since the duo took over the York Haven, Pa., facility before the 2016 season. Building divisions and giving fans different divisions has been a key point to the success of the speedway.
The 2025 schedule is no different. Whether it’s increased 410 Sprint Car slate, the regular Saturday night program of Super Sportsman, Limited Late Models, and Extreme Stocks, other divisions, and interesting forms of entertainment, Gouse and Gobrecht have given fans a reason to make the trip to the speedway.
There are 32 races on the season slate. Along with 11 410 Sprint Car events, the Super Sportsman are on the docket 17 times, with Limited Late Models, 602 Crate Sportsman, Legends, Extreme Stocks, 358 Modifieds, and more also featured. There is also a three-day carnival in May and a September Lantern Fest for fans of all ages.
“We pride ourselves in having variety in an effort to give fans with different interests a reason to come to BAPS Motor Speedway,” Gouse said. “It starts with highlighting our regular Saturday night program and then bringing in other divisions when they make the most sense.
“A key point for us in 2025 is increasing our 410 Sprint Car footprint. Last year’s shows were successful, and we saw an increase in fan count and interest. Once we saw that, we knew we needed to up the ante on our Sprint Car events and also boost the season point fund for the series.”
The point fund is back for the upcoming season thanks to RV 4-Wheel Drive remaining on board, but no date on the diverse schedule would be possible without the many sponsors involved at the speedway.
Of the 32 race dates on the schedule, 31 have sponsors. That’s a testament to the management team and the commitment community businesses have toward the success of the speedway.
“None of this would be possible without our devoted sponsors,” Gouse said. “Our goal is to make sponsors feel like partners, and I think we did that in 2024. We want to do that every year, and I’m pleased that so many of these companies have come back for next season.”
The season opener takes place on Saturday, March 15. The Super Sportsman, Limited Late Models, and Legends practice is on the docket for a 4 p.m. start. The first 410 Sprint Car event will be held on Providence Motorsports & Partners Night Sunday, March 30.
Racing moves to 5 p.m. for the month of April. The Super Sportsman have three nights of racing on April 5, 12, and 19. The 410 Sprints will also be on the card on April 13 and April 27. The mighty Modifieds will join the Sprint Cars on Sunday, April 27.
The first community entertainment event will take place in May. A three-day Carnival will be held at the Speedway May 8-10. Racing will take place on Saturday, May 10 with a program of Super Sportsman, East Coast 360 Sprints, Extreme Stocks, and Legends. It’s the first 7 p.m. start time of the season.
The 410 Sprints return on Sunday, May 18, with the 358 Sprints joining the Super Sportsman one week later. There will also be a Super Sportsman Non-Winners race that same night.
June has a pair of 410 events, which will be highlighted by J&S Classics Pennsylvania Speedway on June 29. The Super Sportsman will also be on the card. The Wingless Super Sportsman, 602 Crate Modifieds, Limited Late Models, and Extreme Stocks make up Warhorse of Camp Hill Smokey Frye Tribute Night on Saturday, June 21.
As the Summer months wear on, the Dellinger’s Auto Body Firecracker 40 for Super Sportsman takes place July 5. A short 18 days later, the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series regulars invade BAPS Motor Speedway for the Bricker’s French Fry Bash.
“July is a big month at BAPS,” Gouse said. “We have one of our biggest races of the season for the Super Sportsman and our third-straight year hosting a World of Outlaws event.
“Big events like this are an important part of BAPS Motor Speedway. We embrace the weekly show, but these bigger events get more eyes on the drivers, teams, and what we are doing at the racetrack.”
Those big events continue in August and September. The 21st annual York County Nationals presented by Rock-It Pizza takes place on August 16. It features the Wingless Super Sportsman, Limited Late Models, PA Micro Midgets and Classic Cars. The 410s are back one week later on Hoseheads.com Night presented by Denk Electric, and the prestigious Fine Line Auto Body 51st annual Gary Wolford Sportsman 100 takes place on Saturday, August 30.
Lantern Fest is on the slate on Saturday, September 6. Two weeks later, the York Excavating Kevin Gobrecht Classic paying $10,000 for the 410 Sprints takes place. The Super Sportsman are also on the card.
The weather starts to change in October, but the racing is still steamy. The final Super Sportsman event will go off on Saturday, October 11. They will be joined by the Limited Late Model, 602 Crate Sportsman, Classic Cars, and the Extreme Stock 50. Fourteen days later, the 410 Sprints and Wingless Sportsman do battle on a Saturday night.
Traditional racing wraps up with the Heavy Equipment & Loaders Sprint Showdown on November 15. The 410 Sprints will go after a $10,000 top prize, and they will be joined by the Modifieds and an Enduro 50. The season comes to a close on Saturday November 22 with Auto Core Recycling Gobbler Bash for Classic Cars, Scramble Cars, Women on Wheels, a Demo Derby, and more.
“We are excited for the upcoming 2025 racing season,” Gouse said. “A big thank you to all of the sponsors, the drivers, the teams, and especially the fans who come out and support the speedway every week.
“It takes a lot of people to make BAPS Motor Speedway successful. We hope the schedule has variety and a lot of exciting events to give fans their racing fix. Now that the schedule is complete, we are going to get to work on making each event a must-see for the fans.”
