Jerrod Hull – Second at Montgomery County!

(Bill W) June 25, 2013 – Jerrod Hull and the Rockwell American #12 team are feeling good about the way things are headed. The team is used to racking up some wins by June, but that has eluded them so far in 2013. However, their finishes in the top five have increased and Jerrod and crew chief, Scott Bonar, have made some changes to get the car going again. Saturday night, they finished second with the Midwest Open Wheel Association (MOWA) series at Montgomery Motorsports Park near New Florence, Missouri. The Sikeston, Missouri driver will be taking some time off for a family vacation, but will be back in action in a couple of weeks.

Jerrod ran third in his heat race after starting fifth. “We felt pretty good about the heat,” he says. “To start back in row three and finish third…we’ve made some changes to the car and it feels a lot better. We carried that on to the Dash and we were able to win that (from outside row one).”

Starting from the pole, Jerrod would ride in second, chasing Joey Moughan to the checkers. “We weren’t bad in the feature at all,” he says. “Joey had it going well around the top there. He got us coming out of turn two. He had it really going good on the cushion, and we just couldn’t catch him. He was gone.”

Most importantly, the team felt good about some of the things they’ve been changing with the sprinter. “All in all, it was a great night,” says Jerrod. “We changed some things and the car felt better pretty much all night.”

The team’s consistency is showing, and the first win of the year seems imminent. “I think we had a sixth, a fifth, a fourth and now a second,” says Jerrod. “There’s only spot to get better now.”
