After fighting mechanical and motor issues earlier in the season that forced the team to have to sit out several weeks, Kyle and the Smith Racing 86 are back on the track!
June 22 Kyle competed with the ASCS National Tour for the 2013 Sizzlin' Speedweek Finale at Lucas Oil Speedway. Kyle started on the pole of his heat race beside Brian Brown. The first 4 laps were filled sliders after sliders between Kyle and Brian but Kyle maintained the lead and eventually pulled away winning the heat. The heat race win put him in the redraw and he found himself starting 7th in the feature. The car ended up being a little too free and Kyle wound up finishing 14th in the 30 lap A-Main.
June 23rd Kyle raced at XX Speedway. Edging out Jason Johnson for the win in his heat, Kyle would line up 2nd in the feature. At the drop of the green flag Kyle took the lead and never looked back leading all 25 laps picking up his 2nd win of the season, his first of the year in the 86.
