Warrior Region returns to U.S. 36 Raceway

Bryan Hulbert - TULSA, Okla. (June 25, 2013) Coming off the co-sanctioned date with the Lucas Oil ASCS presented by MAVTV American Real at the Lucas Oil Speedway, the Speedway Motors Warrior Region returns to competition at the U.S. 36 Raceway in Cameron, Mo on Friday, June 28.

Present for the Budweiser Challenge on June 14, Jake Martens picked up the Warrior’s prize, leading start to finish at the high-banked three-eighths mile oval to become the Region's fourth winner of 2013.

Counting as the eighth race of 2013 for the Warrior Region, the win column is currently topped by Jonathan Cornell, whose win at the Lucas Oil Speedway on June 22, was his first in National competition, and third on the season for the Speedway Motors Warrior Region.

Johnny Herrera has scored twice against the Warrior drivers, taking wins at the U.S. 36 Raceway on May 17 and then Valley Speedway on May 22. Brian Brown started the season victorious at the Valley Speedway on a very cold April 19.

Points find Jonathan Cornell on top with a 102 point buffer over Jay Russell. Cody Baker holds third with sister Casey Baker maintaining fourth. J.R. Topper completes the top five in Regional standings.

Events on Friday, June 28 will begin at 8:00 P.M. (CDT) with gates opening at 4:00 P.M. Support classes will include the Sport Mods and A-Modifieds. For more information log onto http://www.us36raceway.com.

The 2013 season marks the twenty-second year of sanctioning Sprint Car racing for the American Sprint Car Series, which brings the best of Sprint Car racing to dozens of different tracks throughout the nation and into Canada. Anchored by the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series, ASCS also consists of eight different Regions throughout the nation.
