THE NEXT GENERATION: Sye Lynch Leaping onto National Scene in 2025 with Kubota High Limit Racing

For more than half-a-century, the Lynch name has been synonymous with Sprint Car Racing; and it will continue to be so in 2025 as third-generation competitor Sye Lynch takes the next step in his career by joining Kubota High Limit Racing full-time.

Long before the now 27-year-old native of Apollo, Pennsylvania was even a thought, Sye’s grandparents Ed Lynch Sr. and Jean Lynch were a massive part of the motorsports community in Western Pennsylvania and extending regions. While Grandpa Ed – “The Original Apollo Rocket” – won 47 features at Lernerville Speedway, Grandma Jean became such an important figure through promoting and working in the industry that she earned a 2013 induction into the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame in Knoxville, Iowa.

His dad Ed Lynch Jr. was nearly halfway through his career when Sye was born in 1997, but he still saw plenty of iconic moments from the man who is considered a local legend. What stands out the most was Ed’s historic upset over the World of Outlaws at the 2002 Don Martin Memorial Silver Cup, a night that still to this day lives in Lernerville lore. It was one of Jr’s 112 wins at the Sarver, PA track, but the first that then 4-year-old Sye remembers clear as day.

With all that family history, Sye is now ready to leave his own mark on the sport. He’ll take the biggest leap of his career in 2025, joining a national tour for the first time in his Hollywood Blasting & Coasting, Mosites Motorsports, Ducati of Pittsburgh #42.

After spending the early years of his driving days on the local level – which saw him win 10 races at Lernerville – Lynch ran the majority of the 2023 All Star Circuit of Champions schedule, earning 11 top-10 finishes. In 2024, his #42 team traveled more than ever with 23 feature starts with Kubota High Limit Racing ranging from Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, New York, Pennsylvania, Missouri, Nebraska, and Ohio.

He made waves on multiple occasions last year as he branched out, first leading nine laps and going toe-to-toe with Brad Sweet and Tyler Courtney in his debut at Lucas Oil Speedway. Then, his top performance came at the place closest to home, Lernerville Speedway, of course. At the Commonwealth Clash in September, Lynch landed back-to-back runner-up finishes for a $25,000 weekend at home.

One of four Rayce Rudeen Foundation Rookie of the Year contenders in 2025, Lynch is fighting for the $5,000 award along with 20-year-old Texan Chase Randall, 20-year-old Oklahoman Daison Pursley, and 24-year-old Floridian Danny Sams III.

The extra travel, the daunting workload, and the steep competition level are among the biggest leaps when jumping onto a national scene for the first time. Another challenging factor is that Lynch will visit 22 tracks for the first time in his career.

He’ll make his first laps at Las Vegas, Tulare, Kern, Perris, Central Arizona, Vado, Route 66, Dodge City, Texarkana, 81, Lakeside, Tri-City, Kokomo, Lawrenceburg, 141, Red Cedar, Florence, Placerville, Silver Dollar, Douglas County, Skagit, and Path Valley. That means only 28 dates on the 60-race campaign will come at a place Lynch has competed at before this season.

The most exciting three dates, especially for local fans, are when Kubota High Limit Racing returns to the Sarver, Pennsylvania staple at Lernerville Speedway. Lynch will lead the High Rollers home for the Don Martin Memorial Silver Cup on Tuesday, July 22 and the Commonwealth Clash on Friday and Saturday, September 12-13. Tickets are available for purchase here.

Sye’s 2025 campaign with Kubota High Limit Racing will begin at Las Vegas Motor Speedway with a two-day event on March 13 and 15. The 60-race tour will conclude with All-In Championship Weekend at Texas Motor Speedway on October 17 and 18.
