SAPULPA, Okla. (March 11, 2025) Tim Stowe, better known as Hammer Stowe to anyone who has been around Creek County Speedway is bringing a small Speed Shop to Creek County Speedway starting in 2025.
In honor of his father, it will be called Gnome Speed Shop.
Growing up attending races at Creek County Speedway, and the former Tulsa Speedway off Hwy. 75, Stowe began his racing career in Mini Stocks, after his father pulled him back on path from the mistakes that kids sometimes make, running in memory of his grandfather, and to this day, carrying his number.
From there, racing has been a nearly constant part of his life, with laps turned in Mini Stocks, Factory Stocks, and Modifieds just to name a few.
Following the lessons of his late father and seeing the improvements being made at Creek County Speedway, Stowe felt it was time to bring the Speed Shop back to the quarter-mile oval.
“My Dad and his friend did a speed shop for years, until they had to stop doing that, but this is something that Creek has needed for a long time, and after I talked to Matt and Ashleigh, they were all for it to help the teams, and just goes with everything they’ve been doing out there,” stated Stowe.
Building and fabricating cars since 2006 alongside his wife, the intention of the Speed Shop is to cover not only the cars on track, but the teams should trouble arise with everything from basic fuel and tear-offs, to supplying a tire machine to mount and dismount tires, should it be on a cars, truck, or trailer. The inventory will grow, and change based off what is most needed, and requested.
“We’ll have dry-erase boards out there where people can let us know what they are needing, and if it’s a high enough request, then we can get that done,” explained Tim.
Gnome Speed Shop will be open for Practice on Saturday, March 15. Hammer can be reached at (918) 807-3259.
Creek County Speedway is under the management of Ward Worthy Promotions. Matt Ward can be reached by calling (918) 809 - 2232 or by emailing ascsmatt@aol.com.
