Lance Jackson, who presides from Kingsburg, CA is definitely no stranger to racing, PERIOD!!! He caught the itch in high school at the ripe age of 17 when his high school best friend at the time took him to the famed Rex Beach’s super-modified race shop. That was the moment when the hook went through his lip and his light bulb turned on!!

Throughout the years, Lance has raced super-modifieds, karts and sprint cars and even picked up the 2017 California Super-Modified Series Championship. But his racing resume stretches far longer than just being a racer.

Lance has also served as a mechanic, spotter, crew chief, tire man, race engineer, owner, driver, engine builder, and even helped run a race series for 4 years. He is definitely a man of many hats!!

Over the years, Lance has also travelled a good bit, racing on both dirt and asphalt. And if you ask Lance himself, he’ll say Irwindale Speedway (RIP) was his favorite asphalt track to race on and Tulare is his favorite dirt track to race on! But his travels don’t stop there. He’s been to Lakeport, Madera, Altamont, Mesa Marin, Santa Maria, Merced, Kern, Oildale and even Las Vegas. Where’s the airline miles credit card when you need one?!?

And when asked why someone should get into the RaceSaver Series whether it be as a fan, sponsor or driver, he had this to say, “The RS program is just about the only way a guy can race sprint cars without a pile of sponsors and a huge budget. The limitations of the cars help level the playing field and give guys a decent chance to learn without getting wiped out in their rookie season. The racers are friendly and helpful, and there is a camaraderie that has been missing from pavement racing for years. We always make sure to stick around after the show in order to talk with, and earn fans, put kids in the car, and shmooze potential sponsors, and extend good will towards anyone coming into the pits after the races.”

“The coolest thing about the RS sprint car program is that anyone can get involved if they have the desire - I raced on pavement my entire life and was able to shift gears and put a car together and go dirt racing over the course of one winter and without breaking the bank - of course, we got teased about being "the pavement Guys", but that is all part of the fun. There is not so much money at stake that we can't be friends and competitors, which is one of my favorite parts about racing in this class, along with the fact that we are looking to have full fields and some very competitive shows this year...all on a reasonable budget that won't break the bank.”

And after a few years off, Lance is ready to get back behind the wheel in 2025, as he is joining the newly formed California RaceSaver Series to compete with some of the best RaceSaver drivers in the state!!

See you at the track!
