Attention Drivers: More new things we are trying this year! We will be using the "Choose Cone" sponsored by Eastep's Wheels for regular event 'A' Features in all classes. What is a choose cone? A choose cone allows drivers to choose which lane they will restart in on a caution by placing a cone on the track and allowing drivers to select either the inside or outside lane before the green flag is waved.
How will this work?: The race director will line the drivers up single file first when there is a caution. Then the choose cone will be placed on the track and drivers will choose which lane they want to restart in by either driving inside or outside the cone and immediately lining up double file to restart the race on the next lap. If the top three drivers choose the inside lane the driver in fourth could potentially choose the outside line and restart the race on the outside pole position if this is what the top three drivers choose. We will allow up to 2 cautions to be lined up double file with the choose cone in 'A' Features. If there is a 3rd caution, drivers will be lined up and restart single file for the rest of the race. The last 5 laps of an 'A' Feature will always be lined up single file.
