The Bumper to Bumper IRA Outlaw Sprint Series is postponing the Harry Neitzel Tribute event scheduled for the Dodge County Fairgrounds tomorrow May 16th.
High Wind gusts of 35-40 mph have been predicted the past few days, and with no change in the forecast, and with the size, speeds, and open location of the facility it is in the interest in safety of our participants that we postpone the event. High winds and wings do not make for a good combination from a safety perspective as both the World of Outlaws and High Limit series have cancelled for the same reason this season. Dodge County is not only the fastest track on our schedule, but the fairgrounds facility is surrounded primarily by farmland so there is nothing to help block the wind.
This event is a marquee one on our schedule and will be rescheduled, Sept 26th has been reserved though we are looking for something that fits sooner. This event was slated to be the first of three races for the series this weekend, but the other two races are definitely still on with the Scott Semmelmann Memorial at the Plymouth Dirt Track Saturday which is also Round 2 of the Hopf Farms Bullring Showdown, and Dahlke Memorial at Angell Park Speedway Sunday.
Still two big shows happening yet this weekend, Saturday May 17th at Plymouth, and Sunday May 18th at Angell Park.
