Bryan Hulbert - TULSA, Okla. (July 23, 2013) The Speedway Motors Warrior Region is no stranger to the quarter-mile Double X Speedway in California, Mo. having competed there twice already in 2013.
Returning on Sunday, July 28, one name has stood out at the Missouri oval in 2013; Jonathan Cornell. Six wins so far this season, Cornell rattled off two of those at the Double X Speedway, first on May 26 then July 7.
His six victories, nine top fives’, and ten top ten runs has positioned the VKCC Motorsports entry a comfortable 210 markers ahead of the field. Jay Russell holds the runner up spot with Cody Baker completing the podium going into this Sunday’s Warrior Region showdown. J.R. Topper and Casey Baker make up the top five.
Sunday at the Double X Speedway is the Clyde Wood Memorial and gets underway at 7:30 P.M. with the 600cc Mini Sprints, Street Stocks, and Hobby Stocks completing the Sunday card. For more information, log onto http://www.xxspeedway.com.
