Alger, WA - Doyle Guffie’s Rallye Auto Sales presented Hall of Fame Night at Skagit Speedway on Saturday night. The track inducted Dave, Bill and Paul Lemley into the Skagit Speedway Hall of Fame on Saturday night and saw Colton Heath cap the evening off with a win in the Karmart USA 410 Sprint Cars.
For the longest time in the 410 main event, it looked like Colin Mackey was going to score his first Skagit Speedway feature win. The Bellingham, WA driver led the first 28 laps while holding off Eric Fisher and Trey Starks and looked to be in firm control coming to the white flag before a caution slowed the field up. As the race went back green, Mackey’s car did not roar to life as he had run out of fuel, bringing out a red flag for a fuel stop. On the restart the lead went to Colton Heath who had marched forward from fifth and into the lead. Heath would easily close out the final two laps for his first feature win of the year in the 410s, with Seth Bergman going from eighth to second and Jesse Schlotfeldt taking third. Starks set quick time. Heath and Jason Solwold won the heats.
Jayden Whitney drove to his second career win in the Sportsman Sprints. Jayden led all 25 laps of the main relatively unchallenged, while Dana Glenn raced from sixth place to second and Steven Hendrickson charged up to a third place finish. For Whitney, it was a clean sweep of the night as he set quick time and won his heat race. Peyton Drake and Hendrickson won the night's other two heat races.
For the sixth time in his Skagit Speedway career, Shane Smith picked up a CGE Garage Midgets feature win. Smith came from the outside of the front row to lead all twenty five laps, with Alex Peck hot on his heels in second and Jeff Westergard finishing third. Peck was quick time in group qualifying, while Westergard and Nick Evans won heat races.
The checkered flag on the night flew at 10:38 pm with 56 entries on the night.
