SUPER LATE MODELS CHASE $5,000 PAYDAY THIS FRIDAY AT TRI-CITY RACEWAY PARK

Franklin, PA — This Friday, August 22, all eyes turn to Tri-City Raceway Park as the Flea Flickers Super Late Models headline the night with a $5,000 prize on the line in a 30-lap A-Main showdown.

It’s been a thrilling season for the Super Late Models in their first full-time return to the weekly schedule since 2011. With seven races in the books, Max Blair leads the charge with three wins, while Jared Miley has parked it twice. Jon Lee and Josh Ferry have also taken home a checkered flag. This week, Miley, Lee, and Ferry will be joined by a strong list of challengers including Darrell Bossard, Brian Huchko, Chevy and Ryan Scott, Bob Dorman, and more all ready to chase the big money.

Tri-City has a rich Super Late Model history, with many of the sport’s biggest names leaving their mark on the half-mile. Rob Blair tops the all-time wins list with 10 victories. Dick Barton and Max Blair each have five, while Chubb Frank and Jared Miley have four apiece. Other past winners include Steve Francis, Shane Clanton, Boom Briggs, Darrell Lanigan, Lynn Geisler, and Bob “Mr. Invitational” Wearing. This will be the 59th Super Late Model feature held at the speedway — the question is, will someone add their name to that list, or will a familiar face claim another win?

Joining the action are the 21st Century Energy Group Big Block Modifieds, where Brad Rapp leads the win column with three. Rex King Jr. and Erick Rudolph are right on his heels with two wins each, and the battles in this division have been some of the best all season.

In the Complete Car Care Center RUSH Sprint Cars, the spotlight stays on Blaze Myers. The newly crowned track champion has been nearly unstoppable, winning eight out of eleven races and now holding the all-time Tri-City record for RUSH Sprint wins with 13. If anyone plans to stop him, they’ll need to come prepared.

The Clarion County Community Bank RUSH Stock Cars will round out the card with $500 going to the feature winner. Billy Myers Sr. has notched four wins this season, while Raidden Wilson sits close behind with three. This class has brought intense, wheel-to-wheel racing every week, and Friday should be no different.

THE MARSH HEATING & COOLING WINNER CHALLENGE

The race to the top of the Marsh Heating & Cooling Heat Race Winner Challenge standings is far from settled but the finish line is in sight with only four more races on the schedule, and right now only one driver has a six heat race wins. Raidden Wilson is the leader but there's still several drivers in the mix.
So far this season, 27 drivers have managed to grab multiple heat race wins, keeping things exciting and unpredictable. There's a log jam for second and the overall winner is far from decided with a handful of competitors tied with five wins. Logan McCandless, Blaze Myers, Jeremy Weaver, Matt Farnham and Brad Rapp. Gale Ruth Jr., Zach Morrow, Russ Coyne and Erick Rudolph each sitting with four checkered flags to their names.

Hot on their heels are Rex King Jr., Zach Wilson, Cameron Kramer and Brandon Matus all boasting three heat wins apiece — and looking hungry for more. It’s a tight group, and with so many fast cars in the field, anything can happen as the season continues.

There are also 13 drivers who’ve picked up two wins so far, and an impressive 36 others who’ve made their way to heat race victory lane at least once — talk about depth in the field!
With so much talent spread across the board and plenty of racing still ahead, the Marsh Heating & Cooling Heat Race Winner Challenge is shaping up to right down to the final night of the season.
